What is a Medical Coder?
Every medical service (such as an office visit, surgical procedure, and testing) has a numerical
code associated with it. A medical coder identifies and assigns numerical codes to patient
procedures and diagnoses by abstracting information and utilizing
required coding systems. This information is then submitted for financial reimbursement to health
insurance companies and/or government agencies. If you would like to prepare for new career opportunities in this growing field, Brighton College’s online Medical Coding program can help you do just that.
We understand finding a position is your ultimate
goal. We will help you build your resume and cover
